Ad esempio, le auto a guida autonoma, i sistemi di traduzione in tempo reale, la previsione dei prezzi dell’energia. Per  difficile formalizzazione  intendo un concetto molto sottile. Prendiamo in considerazione le tre categorie di mercato che tassellano il mondo delle business analytics : Descriptive Analytics (DA), Predictive Analytics (PRED) e la Prescriptive Analytics (PRES).   Mi sembra di dire qualcosa di scontato con le due seguenti affermazioni. 1:   Non si può applicare la PRES se prima non si è utilizzato con successo la PRED. 2: Per realizzare delle PRED di qualità bisogna padroneggiare la DA.   Schematizzato è qualcosa del tipo:   DA -> PRED –> PRES   Qual è il livello di penetrazione di queste tre categorie di mercato? La mia esperienza mi dice che, in una data area funzionale quale può essere la logistica, se 100 sono le aziende che usano la DA, 30 sono quelle che usano la PRED, 5 quelle che usano la PRES.   100 DA -> 30 PRED -> 5 PRES   Questo è quello che chiamo l'imbuto delle analytics : su 100 aziende che applicano la DA solo 5 sono in grado di apprezzare una PRES....
